Public Accounts Committee Report Index

The UK Parliament Public Accounts Committee recently released their final report into the investigations on the scandalous waste of public money involved in the Skye Bridge project.

Many of the items investigated by them had been first raised by SKAT, and we feel that it was only due to our persistence in calling for an enquiry that the Committee did investigate.

We draw your attention to Table 1 which shows you how the taxpayer has already paid £15million for the Bridge - funny, the whole point of the Project was for a PRIVATE company to build and finance the Bridge. So, the taxpayer has already paid £15m, and the bridge users have to pay over £24m over the coming years - great value for money...! NOT
